Excellent sunscreen and day moisturizer

I was introduced to the Elta products many years ago at my dermatologist’s. I am a woman of a certain age with very good skin. I plan to keep it that way. After reading the reviews stating the Amazon product is different than the dermatologist products, I compare the two I have. I didn’t see, smell or feel any difference. My skin has not experienced any breakouts. The price is definitely different. I can only say I will purchase here again and save a bit of money. — Sooner reviewed

Pricey but worth it

This sunscreen was recommended by my dermatologist after she removed a melanoma. It contains zinc oxide–that white stuff that lifegueards put on their noses and ear tops. This product disappears on my face and doesn’t look chalky. I like to spend time outdoors and feel safe with this protective layer. Elta – a little goes a long way

This product was suggested by my dermatologist and it is great. I typically wear the tinted version, but bought this by mistake, but still kept it for other areas than my face. A little goes a long way and surprisingly the small bottle lasts a long time. It does not burn the eyes when sweating which is a big concern for the males in my life. I bought this also for my son who is a red-head and works construction and it protects him. I have also tried the sport waterproof tube and it works great as well. I highly recommend Elta products. This product was recommended to me by my dermatologist. OK, I’ll give it a try, as the doctor recommended it. Getting older, as some of you know, you don’t have as much moisture in your skin, so it’s a must. Living in a higher elevation state, ok, Colorado, I need the sun screen as well. This product goes on smoothly, and does not leave an oily film or feel on your skin. My skin just soaks it up. Yes, the price is a little expensive, but it’s so worth it. YES!!!!!!

The answer to facial sunscreen! I am completely blown away by this stuff! No white cast, no breakouts, not greasy. Plus hyaluronic acid?! Could you ask for more? I have normal/combination/fair skin and it works beautifully! It has a very light scent – if any at all. Nice texture that isn’t greasy, absorbs and goes on smooth especially for your sensitive eye area – which was a major concern of mine. Without makeup I was, I’m gonna say, shocked to see that it looked to actually subtly plump up my skin a bit as well as even out my skin tone somewhat! Worked great on top of my moisturizers. With makeup it worked perfectly fine under my powder – I only wear a very light sheer coverage powder so I can’t speak for heavier makeup applications or liquid/cream foundations in combination with this but I would still say it could work fine! I am soooooo incredibly happy with this spf and it will be a staple in my skincare routine! Yes it’s a little pricey but imo it’s worth every penny. If skin health is your concern you need to invest in it and I think this product is a great way to do so!
No idea what problems anyone could have with this outside of buying an expired product from a bogus seller or having some kind of allergic reaction. I have hypoaldosteronism

Which basically means that NO ONE here complaining of dry skin can compare to my everyday! Basically, aldosterone is the hormone that tells the human body to keep hold of fluids to stay hydrated, to excrete water through urine, and whether to absorb necessary salt from the food in your intestines or whether to just go ahead and leave the salt to be excreted. However, since I do not produce aldosterone, my body just instantly excretes ALL of my fluids and never absorbs any salt from my diet. The salt is particularly problematic because every single cell in your body requires salt for each and every biological process. In fact, the heart muscles cannot beat without salt and depend on a sodium channel pathway to continue to move the blood flow properly. So, basically I am extremely dehydrated ALL of the time and due to this continuous dehydrated state, I have THE WORLD’S DRYEST skin! When I say I have tried EVERY product, I have tried EVERY product. Most recently, I tried the L’oreal hydra genius for extremely dry skin that over 1,200 people rated 5 stars. That stuff might as well have been water because it literally just dried on my face like water and did absolutely NOTHING! After that, a friend of mine kept telling me to try the Cerave facial moisturizer and I finally did because I have their skin ointments and the skin ointments work. My friend kept going on and on about how amazing this Cerave face moisturizer was and how she kept annoying her mom to try it and finally her mom tried it and her mom was shocked by how great it was. I tried it and honestly I’m not seeing how that Cerave face moisturizer is ANY different from any other off brand generic face moisturizer you can buy at walmart. Like it literally was no different than grabbing the equate face moisturizer at walmart. And I get really irritated when over 1,000 give a basic level moisturizer rave reviews because I’m over here at deathcon 1 with the dry skin situation and I need the best there is to offer! I don’t have time to waste on whatever junk product neutrogena is advertising the heck out of this month even though they know its nothing better than the other products they’re put out. Again, I researched and read the reviews and finally decided to try this moisturizer and i’m SOOOO glad I did.

Also side note: if you do not have serious legit medical skin issues, can you take your whiny but over to neutrogena and stop leaving pointless reviews about how it made your skin oily/breakout??? IF YOU DON’T HAVE LEGIT SKIN MEDICAL ISSUES, THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT FOR YOU AND YOUR REVIEW KEEPS SOMEONE WITH LEGIT MEDICAL SKIN ISSUES FROM READING A HELPFUL REVIEW FROM SOMEONE RELEVANT!!!!

Anyways, this product will effectively keep your face moisturized. It may seem slightly too dry the first few days, but your skin will adjust and during that time, I suggest you do what I did and CAKE IT ON!!!! For example, I remember the second day I used it, I literally smeared SOOOO much of the stuff ALL over my face and literally within 5 minutes my face felt like I had never applied any moisturizer to it, so I caked it back on again! lol It will be like this for a few days, and then you’ll slowly start needing less and less. Also note, that this is JUST a moisturizer. It doesn’t have any healing properties or anything. On my face, the skin is literally so dry that scratching my face will sometimes make my face feel sunburned and it will just feel like I have a sunburn when I don’t, the skin is just dry and irritated. This moisturizer won’t do anything to relieve the burning feeling or instantly soothe your symptoms. You just have to put the moisturizer on and keep putting it on until your skin is finally hydrated enough to stop experiencing that burning sensation. I sort of expected to put this stuff on and thought my burning would instantly go away and then I realized oh its just moisturizer, it doesn’t have anything but moisturizer in it. — K Red reviewed

I hate sunblocks, but…

I bought this sunblock after watching a youtube blogger recommend it. I hate sunblocks. I hate the greasy, oily feeling. I hate how they make you feel like you have an oil slick on your face. And I hate how they make your face look white or grey, especially if you are a darker skin tone.

This sunblock however was NOT heavy, OR greasy. It did not feel like my face was melting and I didn’t look grey/white. So, 5 stars from me! I was able to wear make-up on top, and my face looked awesome! — roxaphi reviewed

Great sunscreen for sensitive skin

I’m in love with this sunscreen. It’s light weight, goes on clear and very gentle for sensitive skin like mine. Chemical sunscreens burn my eyes, but since this is combination sunscreen (zinc and octinoxate), it goes on gently without leaving a white cast. Better for extra moisture.

I really liked using the Clear version but my skin was struggling with dryness from Tretinion. I switched to this version for simplicity. I end up putting a serum underneath it still. I’m a little shiny the first couple minutes. It does have a white tint at first that can make reddish skin turn kind of purple. I know it sounds weird, but it absorbs fast. I’ve given away two bottles now to friends who swear all sunscreens break them out. I don’t have any problems breaking out, but honestly after having a close friend die from skin cancer (a long, painful year) I’ll take the breakouts for the prevention. — Soares reviewed

GREAT SUNSCREEN FOR DRY, MATURE SKIN UNDER MAKEUP

I bought this sunscreen on the recommendation of Dr. Dray, a dermatologist who has a YouTube channel I follow. Of particular note is the product moisturizing capability in addition to great sunscreen protection. I’m 64 and have dry skin, and was finding it hard to get my hands on a sunscreen that also wears well under makeup. It feels so light going on and then I feel protected in the sun at high altitude (even in the winter the sun is harsh in Colorado). The hyaluronic acid seems to be smoothing my skin out. Quality sun protection you can count on!

Quality skin care is a must! The Elat MD products do not disappoint! I am an lite olive skinned male who tans easily. My problem is, I have a super sensitive nose area that burns severely if not properly protected. After being introduced to this product through my wife who had purchased it on the recommendation of her dermatologist it was time to purchase my own supply.
Just returned from a small island off the coast of Mexico after spending 10 glorious sun filled days. This product was my first defense against the rageing Mexican sun. I was literally out in the sun from sunup till well after sundown. Many times were were on or near the water. This product performed flawlessly! I did not so much as see a pink spot of too much sun on my face. And, in the Mexican sun, that speaks volumes!!

It literally melts into the skin has a soft fragrance

I love this sunscreen/ moisturizer! I currently use cetaphil gentle skin cleanser or clinique (mild ) for face wash / simple 12 hr to moisture ( i like to moisturize twice) trentinoin 0.025% at night and pixi glow 5% glycolic acid toner in the am( i do this on the days i dont apply trentinoin). This sunscreen goes on easily, moisturizes as it protects, and has a gentle pleasant scent. The zinc oxide offers good protection from sun damage. It’s a great product.

This is not a sunscreen to wear when you intend to go in and out of the water at the pool or beach. You’d need to reapply it too often… and let’s be honest, it is not inexpensive as sunscreens go. Amazing!

I have fairly sensitive skin and somewhat combination (oily & dry skin) – and no tinted moisturizers can even come close to being as great as this one. This is my second bottle now and I am definitely going to continue to purchase this product. The high SPF is also very helpful since I live in Southern California. Love this stuff! I have combination skin, oily “T-zone” and dry in other areas. Most sunscreens cause me to breakout. I had tried other name brands that claim not to clog pores and not to cause break outs but I found these did not work as promised for me. Elta MD works wonderfully for me. It provides moisture to my areas that are dry and provides sun protection without causing breakouts. I’ve been using is daily for a little over a month now and love it.

I’ve found my perfect sunscreen!

This is the first mineral sunscreen I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many, that truly does not leave a white cast. Mineral sunscreen doesn’t sting when used close to your eyes, and I feel it is much healthier than chemical sunscreen. Elta MD is the perfect consistency. It feels nourishing and moisturizing with absolutely no slick or greasy feel. Great daily sunscreen

Great daily sunscreen. I have a family history of skin cancer and have been using this daily for the last month or so. It absorbs pretty quickly (usually I give it a few minutes before applying makeup) and seems more like an SPF 15 in terms of thickness, which is a good thing. Very good

I love this! I tried it after hearing good things on social media. I recently turned 20 and wanted a sunscreen i can incorporate into my daily routine to start preventing aging. The sun accounts for over 50% of aging i believe. Anyways this is really good and I love it! I use a full pump on my face and neck and it does take a while to rub in but it makes my skin feel very good! One tip: i realized that its best to use this as a last step in your routine after moisturizer, I originally used it first thing after I cleansed and used moisturizer on top. Can be used with or without foundation

I bought this product after watching a makeup tutorial on YouTube. After about 2 months of daily use, I love this spf. It’s everything I wanted it to be. I use it before make up, it absorbs quickly, leaves my skin feeling moisturized but not slippery or sticky, and unlike Supergoop, there’s no glycerin/cupcake icing texture (I hate that). Very Happy With Purchase

This moisturizer, Elta MD UV Facial Broad-Spectrum Moisturizer with sunscreen, was recommended by my dermatologist to use along with my Tretinoin cream for fine lines, etc… I use it during the day as I need a combination of moisturizer and sunscreen while using the Tretinoin cream. I find it goes on very easily and absorbs nicely. It makes my skin feel soft and protected. If you are using a prescription Tretinoin cream as I am you know there is a time when you feel like you have a sunburn, when that happens I use Elta MD Intense Moisturizer at night which is made for those using prescriptions or who have had recent procedures. I use that at night and it works like a charm. So the combination of Elta products works great for me. Does not smell like sunscreen

I always have problems with sunscreen products that smell funky and gives me terrible acne. There is a smell with this sunscreen but it is light and will dissipate in 1 minute. It looks very good and gives you the most beautiful glowing skin. I could not stop touching my face earlier today because of how soft it felt.
