Pureology Hydrate Moisturizing Shampoo For Medium to Thick Dry, Color Treated Hair

Surprisingly Amazing!

I never thought a good shampoo could make such a huge difference in my hair but this stuff is legit!

I follow the directions and only put a small quarter size amount massaged into my scalp. I have medium thick hair that’s very long, but it still seems that a small amount works best. I avoid putting any shampoo farther down in my hair (I reserve the main part of my hair for conditioner).

The results of this shampoo are incredible. You wouldn’t think with such a tiny amount of shampoo that hair would respond so dramatically but it totally does! My hair is a richer deeper color with a ton of shine and NO FRIZZ! I don’t need any other products to achieve the look, only shampoo and a good conditioner to follow. I don’t have to use a straight iron or even brush my hair. I seriously can’t get over how good this is for my hair.

The one thing that I think does make a difference is that I let my hair air dry (I shower at night and let it dry while I sleep), I think hair dryers are the death of naturally curly/frizzy hair!

This is the second bottle I’ve used and the first bottle lasted about 5 months. I only washed my hair every 3rd or 4th day because this shampoo not only moisutrizes my hair but also doesn’t grease it up so I don’t have to wash it nearly as often. With a cheaper shampoo I was having to wash every day.

Recently discovered some common shampoo ingredients were contributing to newly triggered breakouts and I had to find a product without them (the pore-cloggers, for me, are sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, coconut oil, and algae extract.) Most shampoos that are free of these ingredients still left my hair feeling dirty and greasy, but I finally spent the extra money for Pureology and it’s WORTH IT. My hair finally feels clean and silky and smells great.

For those who have fine, course, dry hair and are at the end of your rope, this is your shampoo. The conditioner is just as fabulous as the shampoo. I am a 52-year-old woman who was frustrated with my fine, coarse, dry hair. My hairdresser said to try this and order it from Amazon. My hair was so dry that I would cry in frustration. I tried several different shampoos and conditioners, hair mask, serums, and leave in conditioners. Waste of money. Pureology Hydrate is the PERFECT SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER. My hair looks and feels soft and nourished. I don’t even have to use a detangling spray. Combing my wet hair is a breeze. The shampoo and conditioner also smells great. I have nothing but great things to say for this product. My hair is also color-treated, and this shampoo does not affect the color. I just hope they never change the formulation. I know this is a glowing over-the-top review, but this is my opinion after several shampoos. I was paid nothing for this review, and this is my honest opinion. Real deal Pureology Shampoo-

Previous reviews reflect fake, but mine was delivered today and is the real deal. Pureology Hydrate brought back my youthful shine and resilience. I color dark brown over essentially 95% silver-gray, for many years my hair was dry, frizzy and ugly. Very good shampoo

I have long, thick, slightly wavy, color-treated hair. I put off trying this for a long time because of the price, but after trying a few other Pureology products that I really liked, I decided to give this a shot.

The products are quite thick, and I didn’t need to apply as much as I usually do; I need more than the recommended quarter-sized dab (I always need more than the manufacturer says), but not by much.

The shampoo lathers exceptionally well, better even than many shampoos with sulfates, and the conditioner is rich and dense.

After one use my hair was softer and smoother, almost like it was before I started dying it. The ends were less dry and coarse, the frizzy puff through the mid-lengths considerably tamed, and I was even able to use less leave-in conditioner afterward without a single tangle. It got progressively better over the course of the first few weeks.

I usually go a few days between shampoos with dry shampoo in between. With this, my scalp did get oily/itchy a day earlier than usual after the first few washes, but that wore off as my scalp adjusted. I don’t apply the conditioner to my scalp as the bottle recommends either, and keeping the conditioner a few inches away helped keep my hair cleaner longer. I’ve never seen a “normal” conditioner that was meant to be applied to the scalp, only scalp treatments and the like.

I don’t like the fragrance. It isn’t the worst hair care product I’ve ever smelled, but it’s not good either. But given the performance of the products, I wouldn’t be surprised if it grew on me. The minty conditioner smells nicer than the shampoo, which somehow reminds me of black licorice.

While the price isn’t low, I think it performs better than the other brands I’ve tried in this price point, and the bottle will last a bit since I don’t need much at a time. I bought the liter sized bottles before the small ones were even a quarter gone. — Colleen M. Acuna reviewed

Purely beautiful hair!

Makes your hair shine and so soft! My hair is graying and my hairdresser said the shampoo I was using was drying out my hair. I thought my hair was dry because I blow dry it everyday , but she told me to try Pureology Hydrate and see if the condition of my hair didn’t improve and it did! I am so happy with this product and will continue to use it! It has made a big difference in the condition of my hair. Goodbye Biolage

This shampoo combined with the hydrating conditioner is the best shampoo I have ever used. The amount of shampoo that it takes to wash my hair is maybe, a nickel-sized drop but the shine, manageability, and overall good feeling about my hair cannot be beat! My favorite shampoo and conditioner!

Pureology Hydrate Shampoo -and the Conditioner, too- is/are my favorite(s) and have been for years. I’ve read some of the reviews saying it is “fake” because the bottle color is different. My hair salon has the new bottle color for sale and I think if it were “fake” they would have stopped carrying it. They haven’t. Hands down the perfect product

I don’t like spending a lot of money on hair products but man, when you find one that works. It’s just worth it.

I’ve been using this product now going on 20 years. I know it’s pricier than most shampoos, but the results speak for themselves. Hair looks healthy and women compliment me how great my hair looks. I get the 33 oz size cause in the long run it’s the most cost effective choice.

Love it!

I treat myself to both the shampoo and conditioner. I love the way it makes my hair feel. I color my hair and have for decades. This smooths my hair and helps my scalp immensely. There is peppermint in the conditioner and some may not like the tingle, bu t that’s my favorite part. My hair feels great and smells wonderful. Well worth the money to me. Note: if your spending money on this, buy yourself a decent pump. These bottles are too big to hold in the shower and very hard to squeeze the product out. Wonderful Scent and Hydrating Qualities

I am very choosy about shampoo. It has to meet my criteria of efficiency, effectiveness and pleasant scent. This product meets all three. 1) It only takes a small amount to lather into the hair; 2) It hydrates dry hair, but is not heavy; 3) The scent is subtle but sweet. Very nice product. I accidentally bought this shampoo thinking I was buying the conditioner. I was pleasantly surprised. This shampoo smelled great. It worked well and didn’t make my hair look greasy. Love this and worth every penny!

I absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner. I started using it at my colorist’s recommendation and will admit the price seemed a bit steep at first glance. I figured if I’m spending time and money to color my hair, why not get a shampoo and conditioner to keep my color vibrant and my grays away? This is exactly what Pureology does!!! I have stubborn grays that show through after a few washes, but not with these hair products. I ran out and switched to Biolage for color treated hair and was disappointed to see my color fading fast. Now that I’m using Pureology again, my color looks great, my hair is soft and not dry. Pureology has been my favorite brand shampoo and cream rinse for several years to maintain healthy hair. You only need to use a small amount of product so the bottle lasts a long time. Best color preserver for REDS for 15 years

I have extremely fine hair. Nothing else I have ever used preserves my hair color (copper-red) as well as this without EVER weighing it down. Back to Being The Best!

I’ve used this shampoo for years but started trying new products. Why did I do that? This was never a moderately priced shampoo but I loved the thick, creamy lather and how soft and healthy it left my hair while protecting the color. The price had become unreasonable so when the bottle said "20% More Product!" it helped me feel less guilty about the price.Turns out more product was achieved by adding water! It still smelled great but I needed more to wash my thick hair. This bottle is back to the thick, creamy product where just a pearl of product lathers, cleans and leaves my hair in great condition. It works!

I have never had a shampoo moisturize my hair before, but this does! I absolutely fried my hair by trying to bleach it at home (4 times so far.. ) and dying it (3 times so far) but just a couple weeks of using this shampoo and conditioner, it was soft and shiny again. It will change your life

Or at least that’s what the girl at Planet Beauty told me years ago. I was skeptical given that I’d tried so many others and the price was pretty steep but it is SO worth it. Wonderful shampoo

Let me start by saying that I have thick hair. I’ve tried pureology products before and they’re just okay. This shampoo however, is another story. This is a truly wonderful product. I’m not a fan of the smell, but it leaves your hair incredibly soft and shiny. I do think it’s way over priced, but I will continue purchasing because the results are worth it. The best anti-fade shampoo

I’ve highlighted my long hair for years. I live in Colorado where the weather is very dry so I need a product that won’t dry my hair out and protects the color. I’ve tried many products for colored hair including Joico, Matrix, & Redken. Pureology is by far superior to these other products. I purchased it on Amazon because the price was less than buying at a Beauty Brands, ULTA or Salon. Pureology’s website states that they will not guarantee products that are sold outside of exclusive salons. However, this shampoo that I bought on Amazon works amazingly well. It’s been over a month now since my last highlight (using the same stylist) and when I started using Pureology. I can actually see the red highlights in my hair still. With other products, the red would be a dull brown by now. Another bonus of using Pureology is you do not have to use much at all. So this 33.8 oz will last me a long time.
