For anyone thinking about buying this shampoo, don’t hesitate. Those that said it’s a fake product because it’s not the correct color shampoo need to read more carefully before they hit the purchase button. This is not Pureology Hydrate Shampoo (which is purple in color). This is Pureology Hydrate Sheer Shampoo (it’s white). Notice the word "SHEER". It’s a lighter weight version of their Hydrate Shampoo. I absolutely love it. Doesn’t overdo it on the hydrate factor, so it doesn’t weigh my hair down. Leaves my hair so soft. Also, I color my hair and this shampoo has been great, I don’t notice any fading! I put off buying this shampoo for so long because I couldn’t see spending so much money on a bottle of shampoo. But I was trying less expensive shampoos every few weeks, and not liking any of them. I finally caved and bought this after my hairdresser told me how much she liked it. I still think the price is ridiculous, and I’m not crazy about the herbal scent (I usually go for tropical scents), but I haven’t bought anything else since. It works! Also, I recommend going to the Pureology website and read their "anti-diversion policy" (bottom of their home page) and what they say about unauthorized distributors. Excellent color retention, even if you shampoo daily

My beautician recommended Pureology Hydrate Sheer Shampoo for my fine, flyaway hair that is prone to split ends. I rate this product 5 stars because it preserves color better than any other shampoo I have used, even with daily use. Expecting the dried-out feeling of my scalp that is typical with commercial shampoos, I initially wondered whether my hair was getting clean with Pureology Sheer. After 7 months of use, this shampoo has redefined my expectations for “clean.” My hair feels greasier than usual one day after shampooing, but also looks more natural and healthier because of stable color and decreased frizziness. retains my hair color nicely, and I get good volume

I agree with others about the strong smell. However, everything else about this is on point. Because it’s low in water content, it’s more concentrated so you can use a lot less than shampoos at the chain pharmacies, which makes this price a lot more reasonable. It leaves my hair feeling healthy, retains my hair color nicely, and I get good volume. I used Pureologie’s pink volume shampoo for years and this is a solid replacement.

I’m the type of person that tries other products and switches brands regularly. However, I started using Pureology about 15 years ago because it was sulfate-free. I try other products but continue to be a Pureology customer after all these years.

Salon Shampoo for Color-treated Hair

This is the best, salon-quality shampoo! I used to buy it from my beautician at a salon until I started ordering it in the large 1 liter bottle. Pureology shampoo is really concentrated, so it only takes a small amount. I ordered the pumps that fit the bottle and squirt the exact amount needed for shorter hairstyles. It is great for color treated and highlighted hair, like mine, and it has a nice eucalyptus scent. — Filly reviewed

Great shampoo, less great scent

I have long, thick, straight hair that can handle silicones pretty well, but I wanted a hydrating shampoo without them for part of my biweekly deep conditioning routine. I’ve been pleased with this brand’s clarifying shampoo in the past, so I figured this would be a solid choice.

The consistency is fabulous (nice and thick!) and it builds a lather even better than most sulfate shampoos. It provides pretty good slip, especially considering the lack of silicones, and leaves my hair feeling soft and tangle-free even before adding conditioner.

The fragrance is strong and herbal; straight from the bottle it’s too much for me, but after rinsing and drying it’s more subtle, although it does linger. It’s not awful, but it’s probably my least favorite part of the product.

I followed up with Hydrate Superfood treatment (which also has a somewhat herbal scent, but more banana-y) and my hair feels great. I’m seriously considering testing the regular Hydrate line for day to day use in place of my usual products.

ETA: I’ve since purchased the Hydrate Sheer Conditioner and both the shampoo and conditioner in the regular Hydrate line. They’re all fantastic products. — Shannon Griggs reviewed

Fantastic for Color-Treated, Fine Hair

I has used the regular Pureology Hydrate Shampoo for years, since it’s the only thing that moisturizes without leaving my hair flat and frizzy. I have fine, color-treated hair, and since the Sheer version is aimed at that hair type, I decided to give it a try when my liter of the regular ran out. Love it even more than the original! I only had to use a very small amount for my shoulder-length hair, which is nice given the cost. Similar scent and rinsed well. I follow it with the Pureology Color Fanatic spray instead of any in-shower conditioner. My hair is shiny but also has body. The shampoo you’ve been searching for.

This shampoo hands down is amazing. I’ve been searching for the perfect shampoo for my hair type for 15 years, I found it, and my husband is allergic to it…the irony. Any way, this shampoo is the best I have ever used. My hair is fine, with a bit of wave to it. I have a ton of hair, and it gets greasy if it’s not washed every day. I color my hair, and decided to give myself highlights during the coronavirus pandemic (the joe exotic meme going around about people doing their own hair, that’s literally what happened). So my hair has some damage, along with all of the other adjectives I provided. This lovely shampoo is lightweight, cleans really well, suds really well, and it’s super concentrated. I normally have problems with sulfate free shampoos ‘sudding up’, but not with this. Now my hair only needs to be washed every other day, which is a flipping miracle. Great product but EXPENSIVE

I am writing this for the wife. I saw the order & bill, this is expensive stuff. She said, look at my hair right now from using less expensive stuff. I had to agree, she needed to go back to this expensive stuff, worth the money now that its delivered and she is using it again. But dang, it is a bit pricey. Works Great on Fine Hair and Sensitive Skin

I have alot of fine hair and get highlights every 2 months. Other brands like Kenra Volumizing can make my scalp itchy, but this one is totally fine for my daily use, so the Sulfate Free and Silicone Free seems to help. The Shampoo doesn’t really smell much, but the Conditioner has peppermint or menthol which smells fine but is too tingly to leave on too long for deep conditioning, I need to rinse it out after a minute. You defintely get more for your money investing in the large bottles, it’s something like 3x’s more ounces per dollar than the smaller bottles. Salon quality

I bought this because it’s what my local salon uses and I wanted to get that salon feeling at home. I have fine thick colored hair and this works ok for me. The scent is fresh and it leaves you head with a very slight tingling feeling. My hair is pretty manageable after after using this and does not feel dry. Also, there is no residual or added weight. I’ve not noticed any real benefit in preserving my color. This is quite expensive but it lavers up nicely so a little goes a long way, making it more affordable. Expensive but Worth It

If you color your hair, you need to use good, sulfate free shampoo. While this is expensive shampoo, I have found that as I age, my hair needs more care. Sulfate free makes a big difference as well. This does not have an annoying smell, it lathers and rinses well, and does not in any way affect the color or the texture of my hair. poor shipping container-product damaged

This is a wonderful shampoo for my fine color treated hair. I’ve used for several years. However, the bottle of shampoo was shipped in a bag instead of box. The result was that the top of the bottle was broken and much of the product spilled out into the bag. I don’t have fine hair BUT…

this product works for my color-treated, gray-brown mix, thick and coarse hair. Weird eh? I expected a bush of hair with frizz halo-ed around my face but, for some reason, my hair is controlled and shiny. I live in high humidity and my morning styling stint is rewarded with long term curl and manageability. The frizz is diminished to almost nonexistent.

Great for bleached & colored hair.

Love this shampoo. I bleach my hair and dye it often. I wash my hair about twice a week in cold water. Helps keep the hair hydrated and doesn’t pull the color out of your hair when washing. Great product but pricey

I absolutely love this product It’s done wonders for my dry and color and heat damaged hair. My beautician recommended it and the change in my hair has been dramatic. I like it so far

The hydrate sheer is silicone free and not purple like the regular hydrate shampoo. It is very creamy and looks like conditioner but lathers really well. My hair feels very clean.
